Paid money for the previous version to be ad free. It used to be a one-time fee. The app changed to a subscription service and took my money. “Restore” button is useless. You can an actual bundle of remotes on Amazon for the price of this apps annual subscription. Go get two ACTUAL remotes.

Doesn’t stay connected to your tv anymore. You have to reconnect every use.

When you upgrade to new phone it’s not transfer and we have to pay again.

It works but is unusable. Expect an ad to pop up and lock the remote for a minute every three clicks. Smart Things is a way better free app.

This is the most useless app on my phone. It only works sometimes and they want you to pay weekly or monthly. If your considering this app don’t bother. The developer just wants to milk you for your money. WARNING THIS APP DOES NOT WORK 85% OF THE TIME YOUR WELCOME

It literally plays an unskipable ad after every two buttons pressed on the remote, I can’t even turn up the volume without watching 3 different ads. This is a scam

The point of having a TV app is not needing the actual tv remote to make it work. I think these developers missed the point of the concept. I should be able to turn my tv on and off or control it from the app, that’s suppose to be the point of it. If I am using my remote to turn my tv off and control so that I can use this app what is the point of the app…? Insane

when it works (and it frequently does not) it prioritizes showing full-screen video ads that you have to wait for before you get about 4 taps before it shows another one. absolutely terrible garbage. would give it negative stars if I could.

It used to be a good app, once the developer decided to monetize it and get a bunch of fake adds, it doesn't work anymore and just suggests "other" remote apps for you to download so he can make money. DONT DOWNLOAD.

Is an absolute sin. The free version is so packed with ads and you can even turn on the tv you have to manually turn on the TV and then the remote will work. You want the power button to work you’re going to have to pay for it…I’ve never seen ads this bad. Try and find a different universal remote this one suuuuuuucks.

I don’t have a remote that’s why I downloaded the app so I could use the online one I shouldn’t have to get permission.

I downloaded this app and even paid almost $10 for it to remove ads. In the first instance, it does show PIN on the TV and can connect to Samsung TV. In just about a week or so, for no rhyme or reason, it stops recognizing the TV. In an attempt to reconnect, it keeps flashing pin on the TV and the pin entry dialog box on the app keeps appearing and disappearing before I can even enter, any one of the pin numbers being repeatedly shown on TV. I then uninstalled the app, reinstalled it. In the first Instance, it did handshake with the TV, but then again, after a week or so it kept flashing pin on the TV with the pin dialog box on the app of appearing and disappearing again and again. frustrated, I uninstall the app and send an email to the developer for money refund. No one has responded to me. I shall now take the issue up directly with Apple. Poorly designed app, not worth it.

Just don’t waste your time I did it doesn’t work unless you have another remote to allow you access. What’s the point I don’t have the remote it’s cheaper to order a new remote.

Without actual remote my tv won’t auto accept the remote contrary to the instructions here. Why would I need this remote if I had my actual remote. These ppl are getting rich of ads and not providing what’s promised. Scam!

Just don’t do it, only have like 4-5 clicks before an ad, always changing the remote requirements so one day I may be able to press the middle ok button, the next day I need to pay for it. Just a waste of an app.

I know this is a free app so it’s probably going to have ads. But this app is NOTHING BUT ads. You can literally push one button and have a 2 minute ad. And by then my tv menu has gone back so I just end up getting stuck in the ad loop. No thank you. There is a lot of free options. All of them are better.

Sometimes I try to work it and it keeps prompting the pop up for me to buy it for 4.99 a week, they are delusional who would subscribe for a remote! When you can buy the real thing ad free for a one time price at a fraction of what you pay for two weeks. Money grab

I’ve lost mu remote so tried to use app before I’ll get replacement. But to use it I need to press button to allow app connect to TV…. Genius!!!!

I paid for the ad free version which worked great, then it updated and put me back to the free version. Full of ads, super annoying. Please help. Edit: I've now reached out three times using the app itself (as instructed) and have gotten no response. This is a rip off, buyer beware.

I paid for the no-ad version and now 6 months later, ads are back. SMH.

Constant loop of not allowing to connect to tv. Can’t even connect to try. Adddddds!

I used this app for so many years mainly to turn on and off my television when I can’t find my remote so the free version was more than enough. Now that I’ve updated the app, I can’t even turn off my TV without purchasing a premium version/ subscription of it. This used to be my go-to app and I sadly have to uninstall this one and find another.

I had this remote on my phone for YEARS. I’ve dealt with the ads, no problem. I only use it when we lose our remote (more often than not). I’ve been using the app a lot recently and when I opened the app up today it no longer is free!! They want to charge $25/year for a remote! I will instead buy an extra remote to use as backup for $10, if that, and I’ll have that extra one forever and won’t have to pay a repeat fee annually! Greedy. A $25 one time fee is reasonable but a yearly free, you’re crazy.

I purchased this remote app several years ago and I have loved it. Lately, however, every time I open it I am prompted with a full screen ad to subscribe. It goes away when I hit restore, but it comes back every few minutes and every time I open the app. It makes any quick action into an ordeal. So disappointing.

The remote worked great at first, even with the ads. Paid for the ad free version still worked great. After a while the app couldn’t find my tv. Updated the app and it prompted me to pay, again for the ad free version. I’ll just try to keep a remote handy.
